Martindales have been appointed as project architects for the John Peel Centre for Creative Arts.
John Peel, the former Radio 1 DJ, lived locally to Stowmarket and was involved in a wide variety of local community projects. John’s widow, Sheila Ravenscroft is patron of the JPCCA board which has taken a lease on the old Corn Exchange in the town. The board are now seeking funding to convert the building into an arts centre offering facilities for all performing and visual arts.
Martindales are working with Matt Loosley, an architectural student and winner of a competition run jointly by the board and the RIBA to develop an overall concept design for the scheme.

We are currently working in partnership with Davis Langdon and SDC Construction on a range of design-and-build projects at Sharnbrook School.
The principal elements of the works are the construction of a new two-storey dining block, an extension to the school reception and foyer space, the conversion of part of the school into a secondary dining facility and the creation of a new library.
The conversion work will also involve the decommissioning of out-dated ventilation plant and the introduction of natural ventilation within the work areas.
